Open Day – Junior 1 Workshop

One of the workshops during our Open Day today, was the Junior 1 workshop.  We all assembled in the Junior 1B class.  the children came from the 3 Junior 1 classes and we all worked together as one team.

Our first activity was to fish a picture of a fruit and its written word then go and write a sentence about that particular fruit.  Each team had 5 fruits to find.

The second part of the workshop, was going shopping.  The children first had to write down which coins made up a certain value, then they had to choose two or three items to shop, write them down, write their price and add them up to find out what they were going to spend.  The third part was finding change from 20c.

The third part of the workshop, was on a creative thinking, where the children needed to pick up 3 ingredients and try and create their own recipe.  Once they chose their items, they went to their sheets, tried to think what they needed to do with each item and write it down.  The final part was giving a name to their recipe as well as draw their finished food.

A big well done to all the children who participated as well as the parents who accompanied them.🙂

    • THanks for your compliments. We enjoyed it too. Pity the weather kept a lot of people away – it would have been more fun. Try out Nadege’s recipe and let us know how it went. Today I tried Gaia’s and it is really good (adding a few other ingredients of course :)…..
