One of our activities during this topic is preparing some healthy FOOD. The first cooking experience was making Pasta Salad. The children first looked at the different pasta available – penne, fusilli and rice. We then took turns is grating carrots, chopping cucumber and coloured peppers as well as Feta Cheese. We also added olives, corn kernels, tuna and some olive oil. Mixing everything together with the Pasta, it was ready for us to sample and eat. It was amazing how fast the Pasta went. We had a mixture of all 3 different types of Pasta. Some children preferred the rice while others enjoyed the penne or fusilli more. By the end of the session only a few left overs were left. Well done to you all especially trying out the different ingredients available for this recipe. Now you can try it out at home.
