Ordering words alphabetically

This is an easy way to help the children order words in slphabetical order.

Write an alphabet line (a to z), look at the first letter of each word and circle that letter on the alphabet line.  Now put a 1 next to the word which starts with the letter circle first in line, 2 next to the second etc….  Now using these numbers as guide, you can place the words in alphabetical order.  Have a look at the example….
