paired reading

THis week I am trying out some different ways to encourage children to read.  Earlier this week, we had cards related to our class reader RED HEN, where the children needed to put the sentences in order to be able to read them.  Today we used the same story but the reading session was held in pairs.  Each group found the best way to read together.  There were some who read one sentence each or one page each, taking it in turns.  Others opted to read together the whole book and help one another when one stumbled on a word.  It was an enjoyable way of reading where everybody took part.  Well done 🙂
