Alphabetical order

A concept we are working with during our English sessions is putting letters or words in alphabetical order.  First we explore using the small letters and putting them in order, then we use the capital letter and do the same exercise.  Now we have advanced in sorting words in alphabetical order.  The difficult part comes when we have two words starting with the same letter.  Here the children have learnt that they have to look at the second letter and if even that is similar look at the third and so forth.  One group of words we have been having fun sorting out in alphabetical order are our names.  Well done children, most of you really got the hang of this game.  Now we pass on to other words which we need to sort in alphabetical order…….  Are you ready for the challenge???
