Farmer Jake

During one of our ‘drama’ sessions, we pretended to be on a farm.  The children were all tiny seeds and Farmer Jake came to water them.  The sun and the rain helped to make the plants grow.  But then strong winds came and destroyed all the beautiful plants.  The children all had fun pretending to be part of this story – some being the sun or the rain or wind or even the moon.  The ‘seeds’ did beautiful work growing slowly and moving in the wind.

We then went on to being animals.  Each child was a different animal and on “Freeze” they had to stop and be that animal.  Needless to say this brought a lot of laughter and sounds even though at times the ‘animals’ were told they had to be quiet.

Have a look at these pictures, they might help you understand better.
